LA HISTORIA DE PUNTO NAZCA

El año 1996 Nació Punto Nazca con la grabación del CD. "Waritay". Liderizado por Marco A. Peña. Saúl Callejas, Eddy Lima, Fernando Jímenez, Hernán Ponce, Carlos Ponce, Wilson Molina entre otros reconocidos músicos. Dieron una nueva propuesta músical con temas como Anchata Munacuyqui, Estrella Azul, Waritay, etc.

Corto tiempo despues de la primera producción se realizarón las primeras presentaciones y la grabación del segundo CD. "Infinitos del Alma" Consolidando de esta manera un estilo propio.

Entre los años 2002-2003 se realizarón dos conciertos en el Teatro Municipal de La Paz Alberto Saabedra Perez. Con esta base se grabó el doble CD. Punto Nazca "Acústico" Al mismo tiempo Marco Peña, Saúl Callejas y Josué Cordova iniciarón la grabación del CD. "Niño Aymara" con temas inéditos en su mayoria de propia autoria. El trabajo continuaria con presentaciones anuales y la grabación del CD. "Quilla" 2006-2008 Proponiendo con este un estilo mas abierto.

Muchos factores hicierón que las actividades de Punto Nazca no sean continuas. Sin embargo la fuerte amistad, la pasión por la música, el profesionalismo, la libertad y el respeto a la creatividad de cada uno de sus integrantes hicieron que Punto Nazca este vigente.

Cabe destacar el valioso apoyo del público que con sus aplausos dieron el aliento y la fuerza para continuar la dificil tarea de difundir la música boliviana y latinoamericaca.

Es por eso que agradecemos a ese querido público a nuestra familias y a todos los que nos apoyaron a travez de los años. A ellos nos debemos y a ellos queremos dedicar nuestro trabajo.

A BIT OF STORY

Punto Nazca has his origin in the association of three recognized Bolivian musicians: Eddy Lima (quena), Marco Peña (guitar) and Saúl Callejas (charango and voice). They meet the challenge to form a band performing Bolivian and South American folk music. Inspired by the live and the love to the Bolivian homeland, their experiences, nostalgias and dreams are reflected in the lyrics of their songs and the instrumental performances. The first recordings are realised in 1996, therefor the best interpreters of Bolivian folk music are invited: Fernando Jiménez, Carlos Ponce, Hernan Ponce, Luis Guillen and as special guests Wilson Molina, Esther Marisol, Willi Blanco and Mario Acebo. The outcome of it was the CD “Waritay“. In a little while Punto Nazca shall be deemed to be one of the best contemporary bands by the medias broadcasting Bolivian folk music. Thus Punto Nazca gains faithful fans that want to see them in a live act. Due to this rather unexpected success of the CD “Waritay” a digital reissue of it and the firsts concerts in the Teatro Municipal of La Paz are following. In order to comply with the expectancies of their audience and motivated by their young emulators the next production “Infinitos del Alma” succeeds. Thereby Gunar Effen (quena) is integrated as a new member of the group. The popularity achieved calls for a live recording which is realised 2002 during two concerts, historic for the group, in the Teatro Municipal of La Paz. The two new members in this production, Josué Cordova (quena) and Galo Cortez (bass), harmonize perfectly with the style of Punto Nazca and give the music a special and original touch. In the same year the recordings for the forth CD “Niño Aymara” are effected, in which Marco Peña, Saúl Callejas and Josué Cordova act as basis musicians, arrangers and composers. In this work we can see the maturity and professionalism that the group has achieved. In the year 2008 the fifth album “Quilla” is released. Together with Ricardo Sanchez (percussion) the association develops the perfect mixture of rhythm and sound. Punto Nazca is grateful to his audience which turned them into the most representative and important Bolivian music group. Thus Punto Nazca received various awards: best folk music band, best composition in field of social songs, best instrumental piece and best song of the year. At the moment, Punto Nazca is classified as a new school of Bolivian folk music by reason of the musical contribution of the compositions and the subtleties between harmony and sound.
